Sanjay Dutt has officially announced Khalnayak Returns, marking the return of his iconic anti-hero Ballu (Balaram Prasad) to the big screen more than three decades after the release of Khal Nayak. The announcement was made at an event in Mumbai, where a brief teaser of the film was unveiled. The film is also being presented by Jio Studios as a studio partner, marking another collaboration with Sanjay Dutt following his association with the Dhurandhar franchise and its sequel.

Dutt also confirmed that Ghai will remain associated with Khalnayak Returns, indicating continuity between the original film and its upcoming installment.
