Ajith Kumar’s 64th film, Dare Devil, officially began production with a traditional pooja ceremony in Chennai on November 2. The launch brought together director Adhik Ravichandran, producer Shalini Ajith Kumar, music composer Anirudh Ravichander and several members of the ensemble cast, including Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan, Telugu star Sreeleela, Parthiban, Sunil, Prabhu and Redin Kingsley.
Ajith Kumar was absent from the ceremony as he is currently in Dubai following his racing commitments. He is expected to return later this week. The project also marks Shalini Ajith Kumar’s debut as a film producer under her newly launched banner, Brave Hearts Production.
Shalini’s entry into film production is one of the key developments surrounding Dare Devil. The former actor is backing the project as her maiden production venture, bringing a new professional role to her association with the film industry. With Ajith Kumar headlining the film, the project also marks a significant collaboration between the couple.
The casting of Unni Mukundan and Sreeleela has added further interest to the project. Dare Devil marks the second consecutive collaboration between Ajith Kumar and Adhik Ravichandran following their 2025 film Good Bad Ugly. Their reunion brings the director and actor together again after their previous high-energy commercial entertainer. Adhik Ravichandran is directing the upcoming project, although the makers have yet to reveal its complete storyline or provide details about the characters.
Music is another notable part of the film’s team, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the soundtrack. The project marks his fourth collaboration with Ajith Kumar after Vedalam, Vivegam and Vidaamuyarchi. Although Ajith Kumar did not attend the November 2 ceremony, the launch proceeded with the presence of Shalini Ajith Kumar, Adhik Ravichandran, Anirudh Ravichander and other members of the team. His absence was attributed to his ongoing racing commitments in Dubai, with the actor expected to return later in the week.
