The project has emerged as one of the latest high-profile acquisitions for Apple, with Lawrence attached to both star in and produce the film. Written by playwright-writer-director Sophie Fleur de Bruijn, the script generated considerable attention within the industry before ultimately landing at Apple Original Films.
David Ready and Peter Chernin of Chernin Entertainment, one of the companies behind the horror hit The Backrooms, are producing alongside Lawrence. The actress is producing through her Excellent Cadaver banner with her longtime producing partner Justine Ciarrocchi, while de Bruijn will serve as an executive producer.
