Spider-Man: Brand New Day Is Now the Fastest Film Ever to Cross $800 Million Domestically

Spider-Man: Brand New Day Crosses $800M in 19 Days

Sony Pictures confirmed that Spider-Man: Brand New Day has surpassed $800 million domestically in its first 19 days of release, making it the fastest movie in history to reach that mark. The North American total for director Destin Daniel Cretton’s film now stands at $803.9 million, placing it as the fourth-highest-grossing domestic release of all time. The records this film has set in under three weeks are extraordinary, and it is not done yet.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens previously held the record for the fastest pace to $800 million domestically, doing so in 23 days. Brand New Day beat that mark by four days. The film now sits fourth on the all-time domestic chart, just behind Spider-Man: No Way Home’s total of $814.8 million, which stands at number three. At its current pace, Brand New Day is expected to surpass No Way Home and move to number three domestically within days, before setting its sights on Avengers: Endgame’s $858.3 million in second place.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has now crossed $2 billion globally, becoming the second-fastest film in history to reach that milestone. Only Avengers: Endgame got there faster, crossing $2 billion in 11 days. Brand New Day achieved the same feat in 17 days. The film’s current worldwide total stands at $2.024 billion, with $786.5 million domestic and $1.238 billion from international markets, making it the eighth film in history to ever cross the $2 billion mark.

The film launched with the biggest domestic opening weekend in box office history, grossing $360 million and surpassing Avengers: Endgame’s record of $357.1 million set in April 2019. The opening Friday, including previews, came in at $169.8 million, the biggest single day in domestic box office history, also surpassing Endgame. Brand New Day became the fastest film to surpass $400 million domestically after just four days of release and delivered the highest-grossing Monday in history with $47 million, beating Black Panther’s previous record of $40 million from 2018.

The film crossed $1 billion globally in just six days, the second-fastest film to do so after Endgame. It then crossed $1 billion internationally in 12 days, again the second-fastest ever after Endgame. The domestic run has been equally relentless, crossing $400 million in four days, $600 million in less than two weeks and now $800 million in 19 days. Each milestone has arrived faster than almost any film in history.

The success of Brand New Day, along with The Odyssey and Toy Story 5, has helped bring the 2026 summer box office to a total of $4.24 billion domestically, putting the season 23.7 percent ahead of where it stood at the same point last year. With tentpoles like Dune 3 and Avengers: Doomsday still to come, the industry is optimistic that overall domestic revenues in 2026 will eclipse $10 billion for the first time since 2019.

Brand New Day is set to lead the domestic box office for a fourth consecutive weekend, ahead of Sony’s horror sequel Insidious: Out of the Further and Jason Statham’s Mutiny, both opening this weekend. Star Wars: The Force Awakens sits at $936.6 million domestically, the all-time domestic record, and remains the ultimate target for the film if its run continues at its current pace.

Three weeks in, Spider-Man: Brand New Day is already the fastest film to $800 million domestically and is already in the $2 billion club globally. The film is continuing to set new milestones at the box office and is writing its own chapter in box office history.
