The cast of The Housemaid’s Secret is coming together, with Stephen Kalyn, the breakout star of Prime Video’s Off Campus, officially joining the Lionsgate sequel. Kalyn will play Brock Cunningham, a lawyer who is romantically involved with Sydney Sweeney’s character, Millie Calloway. Lionsgate announced the casting on August 31 through a video shared on Instagram, which showed Kalyn reading Freida McFadden’s novel before stepping onto the film’s set. The film is scheduled to be released in theatres on December 17, 2027.
Brock Cunningham is a new character introduced in the sequel. A lawyer who has become romantically involved with Millie, Brock is set to play an important role in her personal life as her professional circumstances become increasingly complicated. While further details about the character have not been revealed, Kalyn’s casting suggests that Brock will be a significant presence in the story.
Kalyn broke through with his role in Off Campus, Prime Video’s hockey drama, where his performance drew attention and established him as a promising young screen presence. The Housemaid’s Secret marks his first major feature film role and his first Lionsgate production, representing a significant step forward following his television breakthrough.

The story follows Millie Calloway as she takes a new job as a housekeeper for a woman she is never allowed to see. Sydney Sweeney and Michele Morrone are returning as Millie and Enzo Accardi, respectively. Kirsten Dunst, Brittany Snow and Paul Anthony Kelly have also joined the sequel, with all three castings announced earlier this year.
Kalyn is the latest addition to what is shaping up to be a significantly expanded ensemble compared with the original film. Sweeney is also executive producing the sequel, while director Paul Feig is producing through his Pretty Dangerous Pictures banner alongside Laura Fischer. Rebecca Sonnenshine returns to adapt McFadden’s novel for the screen after writing the screenplay for the first film.
Feig previously spoke about the sequel when it was announced in January, expressing his excitement over the audience response to the original film and noting that McFadden’s second novel provided a clear direction for Millie’s next chapter.
