Almost two decades after Camp Rock first introduced audiences to its mix of music, friendship and young performers, the Disney franchise is returning with Camp Rock 3. The third installment brings back Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas and Kevin Jonas as the fictional band Connect 3, while introducing a new group of campers who become the focus of the story.
The original Camp Rock premiered in 2008, followed by Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam in 2010. The new film arrives in 2026, more than a decade after the second installment, and uses the return of its original stars to connect the franchise’s earlier era with a younger generation of Disney viewers.
Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas reprise their roles as Shane Gray, Nate Gray and Jason Gray, the three members of Connect 3. Their return provides the clearest connection to the first two films, which helped establish the Jonas Brothers as major Disney stars during that period.
However, Camp Rock 3 is not structured simply as a reunion of the original cast. The new story gives Connect 3 a fresh problem. The band is preparing for a 30-city sold-out reunion tour when it loses its opening act. Shane, Nate and Jason subsequently return to Camp Rock to search for new talent capable of joining them on the tour.
That search introduces the film’s new generation of characters. Liamani Segura plays Sage, Malachi Barton plays Fletch and Lumi Pollack plays Rosie. The new campers also include Hudson Stone as Desi, Casey Trotter as Cliff, Brooklynn Pitts as Callie and Ava Jean as Madison.
The young performers compete for the chance to perform alongside Connect 3 in front of large audiences, bringing competition to the centre of the new story. Their experiences at Camp Rock also introduce friendships, rivalries, romance and personal ambitions as they attempt to prove themselves.
Another major connection to the original franchise comes through Demi Lovato, who returns as Mitchie Torres. Mitchie was the central character of the first two Camp Rock films, making Lovato’s appearance one of the film’s key nostalgic elements. Lovato is also an executive producer on the third installment.
Details about Mitchie’s role in the new story have not been fully revealed. Her return nevertheless gives the film another direct connection to the original Camp Rock era while allowing the new campers to remain at the centre of the narrative.
Music remains central to the franchise. Camp Rock 3 features new original songs while continuing the musical format established by the earlier films. Disney has already introduced “One Beat Away,” performed by Liamani Segura and the cast, giving audiences an early look at the music accompanying the new generation of campers.
The combination of returning stars and new performers gives Camp Rock 3 a clear two-generation strategy. Audiences who grew up with the original films can return to the franchise through the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato, while younger Disney viewers are introduced to a new set of characters whose stories and musical ambitions drive the third film.
The film will premiere on Disney Channel on August 13, 2026, followed by its availability on Disney+ on August 14, 2026. The release brings the franchise back more than 15 years after Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.
Rather than relying entirely on its original cast, Camp Rock 3 uses the return of Connect 3 and Mitchie Torres to establish continuity while putting a new group of performers at the centre of the franchise. The Jonas Brothers’ return therefore works as a bridge between the Disney Channel phenomenon of the late 2000s and a new generation discovering Camp Rock for the first time.
