The trailer for Chakkora – Lunar Love Bird is now out, introducing Telugu audiences to Manga Srinivas’ directorial debut and a new ensemble led by Sravan and Malaika T. Vasupal. Produced by Dr. Chintada Hemarao under High Joy Commercials in association with Vintage Iconic Pictures, the film is set to arrive in worldwide theatres on October 9, 2026, through Sri Lakshmi Pictures. The trailer presents a romantic story that gradually opens into a mystery, giving the film a broader setting than its title initially suggests.
Manga Srinivas brings experience from his work with filmmaker Puri Jagannadh, having served as his First Assistant Director. Puri Jagannadh also unveiled the title motion poster for Chakkora, making his association with the project part of its early promotional journey. The film later gained attention when Union Minister of Civil Aviation Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu launched its official teaser and praised the creative vision of the team.
The makers have described Chakkora as a “Mass Poetry Musical Love Story,” combining the energy of vintage Telugu cinema with a contemporary romantic story. The title, Chakkora – Lunar Love Bird, comes from the traditional idea of the Chakora bird, which is believed to live on moonbeams. In the film, that image is connected to Ravana Brahma, played by Sravan, and his deep pursuit of Julie, portrayed by Malaika T. Vasupal.
The trailer first introduces Ravana Brahma and Julie through a lighter romantic setting. Their relationship forms the main emotional thread, with the film giving space to their interactions and developing bond. The presentation keeps the mood accessible and focuses on the central romance before changing direction.
That change becomes clear as the trailer moves into a darker mystery. Julie’s disappearance shifts Ravana Brahma’s attention from winning her love to finding out what happened to her. The trailer launch at Prasad Labs in Hyderabad also featured Aakash Jagannadh as the chief guest. Aakash Jagannadh said he had already watched the complete film privately and described it as a fantastic experience. Along with Sravan and Malaika T. Vasupal, the film features Mani Chandana, Nellore Sudarshan, Prabhavathi, Madhavi Prasad, Anushka Luhar, Yamini, L. B. Sriram, Suman, Brahmaji and Indraja. The technical team includes cinematographer Ruppa Gopikrishna, editor Marthand K. Venkatesh and composer Prince Henry, with Manga Srinivas leading the project as director.
