The Magic Faraway Tree — Release Date: March 27, 2026. Directed by Ben Gregor and adapted by Simon Farnaby from the beloved children’s book series by Enid Blyton, the film stars Claire Foy, Andrew Garfield, Nicola Coughlan, Nonso Anozie and Jessica Gunning.

Set in the modern day, the story follows the Thompson family, who relocate from their familiar urban life to the remote British countryside. The move strains family bonds as parents Polly and Tim struggle to help their children adjust to an unfamiliar environment. While exploring nearby woods, the children discover an extraordinary tree—one that stretches impossibly high into the sky and houses a community of whimsical magical beings.

At the top of the Faraway Tree lies a rotating series of enchanted lands, each appearing for a limited time before drifting away. These fantastical realms range from celebratory worlds filled with sweets and festivities to unpredictable places governed by strange rules and eccentric rulers. As the children venture upward, they meet unforgettable characters including Silky, Moonface, the Saucepan Man, Dame Washalot, and the Angry Pixie—figures who both guide and challenge them through their adventures.

Each journey becomes more than an escapade; it offers lessons about courage, empathy, and resilience. Through the magical lands, the Thompson family gradually reconnects, learning to face fears and rediscover joy in uncertainty. The narrative blends classic fantasy with contemporary emotional themes, reflecting modern childhood anxieties while preserving the imaginative spirit of Blyton’s original stories.

Principal photography began in June 2024 at Shinfield Studios in Berkshire, with a score composed by Isabella Summers, known for her work with Florence and the Machine. Combining whimsical world-building with heartfelt family drama, The Magic Faraway Tree reintroduces a timeless literary world to a new generation of audiences.
