Expanding the world established in the original series, Mirzapur: The Movie transitions the crime saga to the theatrical format. Set within the power-driven landscape of Mirzapur’s criminal underworld, the narrative continues to explore shifting alliances, territorial rivalries, and personal vendettas that define the region’s hierarchy. The story builds upon established character arcs while positioning new conflicts within the larger framework of political ambition and organized crime.

Written by Puneet Krishna and directed by Gurmeet Singh, the film retains the tonal intensity associated with the franchise. The screenplay centers on the continuing struggle for dominance in Mirzapur, where legacy, loyalty, and revenge intersect. Pankaj Tripathi and Ali Fazal reprise their roles, joined by Divyenndu and Jitendra Kumar, among others, forming a wide ensemble that reflects the interconnected narrative structure.

The cast includes Ravi Kishan, Abhishek Banerjee, Rasika Dugal, Shweta Tripathi, Shriya Pilgaonkar, Harshita Gaur, Sushant Singh, Mohit Malik, Sheeba Chaddha, Rajesh Tailang, Kulbhushan Kharbanda, Anjum Sharma, Sonal Chauhan, and Anangsha Biswas. The film was officially announced by Amazon MGM Studios, with production handled by Excel Entertainment.

Principal photography began in September 2025 following a script reading session in August. Filming took place across Mumbai, Varanasi, Jaisalmer and Jodhpur, concluding in January 2026. The production scale extends beyond the confines of the series format, adapting the established world into a feature-length cinematic narrative.

Scheduled for theatrical release on 4 September 2026, Mirzapur: The Movie marks the franchise’s expansion into cinemas, carrying forward its crime-driven storytelling to a wider theatrical audience.
