March 23, 2025

The wait is over for Salman Khan fans! The highly anticipated Sikandar trailer, directed by AR Murugadoss, has finally been released. Scheduled for an Eid 2025 theatrical release, the film promises high-octane action, massy dialogues, and an emotional core that sets it apart from typical Salman Khan films.

A Grand Trailer Launch with a Unique Approach

Salman Khan's Sikandar triler launchUnlike previous Salman Eid releases that often featured grand trailer launch events, Sikandar opted for a digital-first release strategy. On March 21, the filmmakers officially announced that the trailer would be out on March 23, just a week before the film’s theatrical debut. This late marketing push has intrigued trade analysts, as Bollywood blockbusters usually unveil trailers well in advance.

Sikandar Trailer: A Glimpse into the Action-Packed Drama

The three-minute-38-second trailer establishes Salman Khan’s character, Sanjay Rajkot, a wanted man with 49 cases against him. However, he isn’t your typical fugitive—he fights for justice. The trailer is packed with:

  • Explosive action sequences, choreographed to cater to Salman’s larger-than-life image.
  • Massy dialogues reminiscent of ‘80s and ‘90s Bollywood.
  • A political thriller angle, hinting at corruption, power struggles, and law enforcement themes.

Salman’s dialogue, “Many leaders have gone to jail, even actors. Nobody is above the law,” has sparked speculation about whether the film subtly references real-life events.

AR Murugadoss on What Makes Sikandar Different

In an interview, director AR Murugadoss assured fans that Sikandar isn’t just another action-heavy Salman Khan film. He compared it to his previous blockbuster Ghajini (2008), which had a strong emotional arc.

  • The film highlights the importance of family bonds amid modern hustle culture.
  • It features a husband-wife love story, with Rashmika Mandanna playing Salman’s romantic interest, Saisri.

Murugadoss explained that the film aims to balance commercial appeal with a strong emotional message, making it more than just a masala entertainer.

Box Office Expectations & Salman’s Return

With Sikandar, Salman Khan returns to lead roles after a 16-month gap, following Tiger 3 (2023), which had a mixed box-office response. Despite cameos in Singham Again and Baby John, this film marks his full-fledged return to big-screen action.

Trade analysts predict a massive opening, possibly surpassing Bharat’s ₹42.3 crore Eid debut. However, the trailer’s late release has raised questions about its impact on advance bookings.

Censor Board Certification & Runtime

As per The Times of India, Sikandar has received a U/A certificate from the CBFC, ensuring it reaches a wide audience. The film’s runtime is set at approximately 2 hours 40 minutes, making it one of Salman’s longer releases in recent years.

With action, political intrigue, and an emotional storyline, Sikandar is poised to be a major Eid blockbuster. The late trailer release might be a bold marketing move or a calculated risk—but Salman’s star power ensures that anticipation remains sky-high.

Will Sikandar break box office records? We’ll find out soon!
