Spider-Man: Brand New Day has rewritten the history of Hollywood at the Indian box office. The Tom Holland-led Marvel blockbuster has now collected ₹415.82 crore net in India, moving ahead of Avatar: The Way of Water and Avengers: Endgame to become the highest-grossing Hollywood film in the country by net collections.
The latest figure marks a significant jump from the film’s ₹402.22 crore net collection through Day 11. Avatar: The Way of Water, which previously held the top position, stands at ₹378.22 crore net, while Avengers: Endgame has a lifetime India collection of ₹373.22 crore net. Brand New Day has therefore opened up a lead of ₹37.60 crore over Avatar: The Way of Water and ₹42.60 crore over Endgame.
The record-breaking run has been built on an exceptionally strong opening week and an equally impressive second-week hold. Spider-Man: Brand New Day collected ₹334.75 crore net in its first week, beginning with ₹60.60 crore on Thursday, followed by ₹49.35 crore on Friday, ₹70.25 crore on Saturday and ₹77.75 crore on Sunday. The film then added ₹23.80 crore on Monday, ₹21.75 crore on Tuesday, ₹17 crore on Wednesday and ₹14.25 crore on the second Thursday.
The second weekend continued to show little of the drop-off normally associated with a major release entering its second week. The film collected ₹15 crore net on its second Friday before jumping to ₹31 crore on Saturday and ₹21.47 crore on Sunday, taking its cumulative India net collection to ₹402.22 crore through Day 11. The subsequent update has now pushed the total to ₹415.82 crore net.
The strength of the second weekend was also reflected in audience occupancy. On the second Saturday, the film recorded a 68.4 percent overall occupancy, followed by 70.4 percent on Sunday. The film was running across 13,482 shows on its second Saturday, underlining the scale of its theatrical footprint. According to the earlier tracking, the film has so far played across more than 163,000 shows in India.
The English version continues to be the biggest contributor to the film’s India net business. On Day 11, it collected ₹11.42 crore net with 47 percent occupancy. The Hindi version contributed ₹8.39 crore net but recorded an exceptional 95 percent occupancy, while the Tamil version added ₹1.24 crore at 58 percent occupancy and the Telugu version contributed ₹42 lakh at 32 percent occupancy.
The city-level performance has also highlighted the film’s strength across major markets. Chennai recorded an extraordinary 85.3 percent occupancy, rising to 90 percent during night shows, while Bengaluru recorded nearly 70 percent occupancy across 446 shows. The performance demonstrates that the film’s appeal is not restricted to one language or one section of the theatrical audience.
The scale of the run is also visible in ticket sales. The film has already processed more than 7.85 million tickets through BookMyShow, further reflecting the exceptional demand for the latest Spider-Man film in India.
The new record is particularly significant because of the titles that Brand New Day has surpassed. Avengers: Endgame had previously established one of the highest benchmarks for a Hollywood release in India, before Avatar: The Way of Water moved ahead to claim the top position. Brand New Day has now gone past both films during its ongoing theatrical run.
The current top Hollywood grossers at the Indian box office, based on net collections, are led by Spider-Man: Brand New Day at ₹415.82 crore, followed by Avatar: The Way of Water at ₹378.22 crore, Avengers: Endgame at ₹373.22 crore, Avengers: Infinity War at ₹227.43 crore and Spider-Man: No Way Home at ₹218.41 crore. Avatar: Fire and Ash stands at ₹206.55 crore, followed by The Jungle Book at ₹188 crore, The Odyssey at ₹166.27 crore, The Lion King at ₹158.71 crore and Mufasa: The Lion King at ₹132.60 crore.
The performance also gives further context to the growth of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in India. Spider-Man: No Way Home had already demonstrated the character’s extraordinary theatrical appeal in the country, eventually collecting ₹218.41 crore net. Brand New Day has now taken that performance to another level, nearly doubling the previous Spider-Man benchmark and becoming the first film in the franchise to cross ₹400 crore net in India.
The result also suggests that the success of No Way Home was not simply a one-off event driven by the unique circumstances surrounding that film. Brand New Day has now demonstrated that the character can attract audiences on an even larger scale, pushing the ceiling for Hollywood releases in the Indian market significantly higher.
The achievement comes at an important time for Marvel, with Avengers: Doomsday among the major theatrical releases ahead. The unprecedented performance of Brand New Day gives the studio another indication of the potential scale of its audience in India.
For Hollywood, the larger significance of Spider-Man: Brand New Day lies in the new benchmark it has established. Films such as Avengers: Endgame and Avatar: The Way of Water had previously defined the upper limit of Hollywood’s theatrical performance in India. Brand New Day has now moved beyond both, showing that the country’s audience for major international franchises can support a substantially higher level of box-office business.
With its India net collection already at ₹415.82 crore and the film continuing its theatrical run, the final total will determine how far it ultimately moves beyond the previous record. But the milestone itself is already clear: Spider-Man: Brand New Day is now the biggest Hollywood film in Indian box office history by net collections.
