Gabrielle Zevin’s bestselling novel Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, which is being adapted by Paramount Pictures, is set to hit theaters on November 12, 2027. Paramount acquired the film rights to the novel before its publication, underscoring the industry’s early confidence in the project. Since its release in 2022, the book has gone on to become one of the biggest literary success stories of the decade.
Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is directed by Siân Heder and stars Daisy Edgar-Jones, the British actress known for her roles in Normal People, Under the Banner of Heaven, Where the Crawdads Sing, and Twisters. She is set to play one of the novel’s central characters, Sadie Green. Other cast members have not yet been announced by Paramount.
The story of the popular novel follows a modern love story between two friends who meet as children and reunite as adults to create video games, discovering an intimacy in digital storytelling that escapes them when they try to find it in the real world. Their relationship explores themes of intimacy, passion, ambition, creativity, and the heartbreak that can emerge from artistic collaboration, set against the visually groundbreaking worlds created by the rising video game industry of the 1990s and 2000s. While often described as a modern love story, the novel is equally a story about friendship, creativity, ambition, and the complexities of artistic collaboration within the rapidly evolving video game industry.
The plot centers on Sadie Green, a brilliant game designer, her collaborator Sam Masur, and Sam’s roommate and friend Marx Watanabe, as the trio build a video game studio called Unfair Games. Paramount has so far only announced Daisy Edgar-Jones as part of the cast. The actors who will portray Sam Masur and Marx Watanabe have yet to be revealed. Siân Heder, who won the Academy Award for CODA, is directing and writing the screenplay based on earlier drafts by Mark Bomback and Gabrielle Zevin. Heder is also producing the film alongside Temple Hill’s Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner, while Zevin serves as an executive producer.
According to Paramount, the film is scheduled for a wide theatrical release on November 12, 2027. The novel, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, was published in 2022 and has sold more than four million copies worldwide across over 40 territories and languages. It has sold more than two million copies in North America and over one million copies in the United Kingdom.
The novel was named one of The New York Times‘ 100 Best Books of the 21st Century and one of the best fiction books of the last 30 years by the Los Angeles Times. It also spent more than a year on The New York Times bestseller list, cementing its status as one of the defining literary successes of recent years.
Gabrielle Zevin is represented by CAA, Sterling Lord Literistic’s Doug Stewart, and Bradley Garrett of Garrett Legal, PC. Heder is represented by CAA, Anonymous Content, Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher, and ID.
Fans of the novel are eagerly awaiting additional casting announcements and production updates from Paramount. With an Oscar-winning filmmaker at the helm, a bestselling source novel, and Daisy Edgar-Jones attached to star, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow is shaping up to be one of Paramount’s most anticipated literary adaptations heading into 2027.
