7 Dogs Arrives in India, Bringing Saudi, Egyptian, Indian and Hollywood Cinema Together

August 21, 2026

Saudi Arabian action thriller 7 Dogs arrives in Indian cinemas on August 21, 2026, bringing the multinational production to a new theatrical audience following its May 27 release across parts of the Middle East.
Opening in Hindi and English, the film brings together Egyptian stars Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, Indian actors Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, and international filmmaking talent in a Saudi-led production.
Produced by Sela Studios with support from Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority and Riyadh Season, 7 Dogs follows a cross-border action story involving an Interpol officer and a secret criminal syndicate.
Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz lead the film. The story follows elite Interpol officer Khalid Al-Azzazi, who captures Ghali Abu Dawood, a senior member of a secret criminal syndicate known as 7 Dogs. A year later, the organisation returns, spreading a dangerous drug called Pink Lady across the Middle East. Khalid is then forced into an uneasy alliance with Ghali to penetrate the network and stop it.
For Indian audiences, one of the film’s biggest points of interest is the participation of Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt. However, the film is primarily led by Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz, with the Indian stars appearing as part of the wider ensemble. The cast also includes Monica Bellucci and Giancarlo Esposito.
The Hollywood connection extends behind the camera. 7 Dogs is directed by Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the filmmaking duo behind Bad Boys for Life and Bad Boys: Ride or Die. Their involvement brings experience from major international action productions while the film remains rooted in a Saudi-led production.
The film’s action and stunt sequences were developed with the involvement of 87Eleven, the company associated with the John Wick films. Veteran stunt designer Stephen Dunlevy, whose credits include Mad Max: Fury Road and John Wick, leads the action and stunt design.
The film brings together several film industries. Saudi Arabia provides the production base, Egypt supplies its two central stars, India contributes Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt, while filmmakers and performers with Hollywood and international experience expand the project’s creative reach.
7 Dogs was also shot in Riyadh, placing the Saudi capital at the centre of a project designed for a broad commercial audience. Its earlier Middle Eastern release established the film in its home region before the August 21 Indian rollout opened the next phase of its theatrical journey.
The Indian release gives 7 Dogs an additional crossover dimension. The film enters a market where Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt are major screen names while introducing Indian audiences to Karim Abdel Aziz and Ahmed Ezz through a theatrical release built around an Arabic-origin production.
As 7 Dogs reaches Indian theatres in Hindi and English, its release highlights the growing potential for commercial cinema to bring different film industries together, with Saudi Arabia, Egypt, India and Hollywood-linked filmmaking talent contributing to the same production.
