Psycho Killer — Release Date: February 20, 2026. Directed by Gavin Polone in his feature directorial debut and written by Andrew Kevin Walker, the horror thriller stars Georgina Campbell, James Preston Rogers, and Malcolm McDowell. The film is produced by New Regency alongside Constantin Film and Vertigo Entertainment, and distributed by 20th Century Studios.

Set against the stark highways and remote landscapes of Kansas, the film follows Jane Archer (Campbell), a Kansas highway patrol officer whose life is shattered by the brutal murder of her husband, a state trooper. The crime is soon linked to a serial killer operating under the moniker “the Satanic Slasher,” a figure whose crimes have left law enforcement unsettled due to their ritualistic undertones and calculated brutality.

Determined to confront the perpetrator herself, Jane embarks on a relentless pursuit that shifts from procedural investigation to personal vendetta. As the case unfolds, she uncovers the disturbing psychological dimensions of the man responsible (Rogers). The killer’s motives extend beyond violence, revealing a pattern shaped by manipulation, sadism, and a carefully constructed public invisibility.

The narrative explores the psychological toll of grief and obsession, charting Jane’s descent into morally complex territory as she pushes the boundaries of her role as an officer. Supporting characters, including a mysterious employer figure portrayed by McDowell and others connected to the investigation, contribute to a layered web of suspicion and dread.

The screenplay has undergone a prolonged development history, with earlier drafts circulating in the late 2000s before the project was revived under New Regency in 2023. Principal photography was completed the same year, with cinematography by Magnus Nordenhof Jønck and an original score composed by Sven Faulconer.

Blending slasher conventions with character-driven tension, Psycho Killer presents a grounded horror narrative centered on vengeance, trauma, and the psychological confrontation between hunter and hunted. The film is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on February 20, 2026.
