In return, the mission is expected to yield critical intelligence tied to a larger objective within the galaxy. As they undertake this operation, the film explores the shifting dynamics of power in a post-Empire era, a key phase within the broader Star Wars timeline.

Pedro Pascal reprises his role as Din Djarin, with Grogu returning as his companion. Jeremy Allen White voices Rotta the Hutt, while Sigourney Weaver portrays a New Republic colonel. The film also integrates characters and elements from across the Star Wars canon, maintaining continuity with previous entries in the franchise.
