Hanuman Ansh, the low-budget spiritual drama based on the life of Neem Karoli Baba, added ₹7.25 crore to its India net collections on Day 27, taking its total past the ₹60 crore mark to approximately ₹61.88 crore. Its India gross now stands at around ₹72.97 crore. The film ran across roughly 7,000 shows on the day, continuing one of the most unexpected theatrical runs of the year.
Hanuman Ansh has followed an anything-but-conventional box office trajectory. The film opened in theatres on August 7 with a modest ₹10 lakh on Day 1 and struggled through a largely muted first week.
The turnaround came during its fourth week, when collections began to surge. The film earned around ₹6.25 crore on Day 22, ₹9.25 crore on Day 23 and ₹12.75 crore on Day 24, before settling at ₹5.50 crore on Day 25. It then jumped again to ₹8.50 crore on Day 26, marking an approximately 54% single-day increase. The rise was partly driven by exhibitors adding more shows in response to growing demand.
What makes the numbers particularly striking is the film’s reported budget of under ₹2 crore. With its India net collections now well beyond ₹60 crore, Hanuman Ansh has emerged as an extraordinary return-on-investment story in recent Indian cinema.
Trade watchers have attributed the film’s unusual late-stage growth primarily to sustained, organic word-of-mouth. Such a trajectory is rarely seen at this scale, particularly for a small, star-less devotional film.
Building on its domestic momentum, Hanuman Ansh is now set for a worldwide theatrical release on September 11, 2026. Kannada production banner Hombale Films will handle the film’s international rollout through its Hombale Overseas arm, in collaboration with local distribution partner Phars Film.
Hombale Films, known for backing major pan-Indian hits including KGF, Salaar and Kantara, has positioned the international release as part of its efforts to expand its overseas distribution footprint. The September 11 release date also carries symbolic significance, as it marks the 53rd anniversary of Neem Karoli Baba’s mahasamadhi.
Written and directed by Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, Hanuman Ansh is inspired by the life and spiritual journey of Neem Karoli Baba, popularly known as Maharaj-ji. The film traces his path towards spirituality, devotion and service.
Shobhinaw Satyaa plays Neem Karoli Baba, with Vihaan Shedge portraying Maharaj-ji at another stage of the story. The cast also includes Chandan Anand, Purnima Tiwari, Anil K. Rastogi and Gulshan Pandey.
The film has a runtime of two hours and 30 minutes and carries a U certificate. It is produced under the Swambhu Media Network banner. Hanuman Ansh was originally scheduled to release on July 31 before being pushed to August 7.
With its domestic collections continuing to climb nearly a month into its theatrical run and an international release now locked for September 11, Hanuman Ansh has become one of 2026’s most unlikely box office success stories. What began as a small-budget devotional film with a modest opening has steadily surpassed expectations and found an audience strong enough to sustain its theatrical run well beyond its initial release period.
