The first Hershey Trailer has been released, giving audiences their first look at the upcoming biopic about chocolate pioneer Milton S. Hershey and the origins of The Hershey Company. Starring Finn Wittrock and Alexandra Daddario, the Angel Studios film is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 26, just in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.
Finn Wittrock stars as legendary chocolatier Milton S. Hershey, while Alexandra Daddario portrays his wife, Catherine “Kitty” Hershey. The film tells the story of how one of the world’s most recognizable chocolate companies came into existence.
Founded by Milton S. Hershey in the late 19th century, The Hershey Company grew from a small confectionery business into one of the world’s largest chocolate manufacturers. Beyond its commercial success, Hershey became equally known for his philanthropic work, particularly through the Milton Hershey School, making his life story one that extends well beyond the confectionery industry.
Directed by Mark Waters, the biopic follows Milton Hershey’s efforts to launch his own chocolate company after a series of business failures. Spanning nearly five decades, from the early 1870s to the late 1910s, the film also highlights the couple’s commitment to philanthropy and their vision of using business success to benefit the wider community.
The official synopsis reads:
“Hershey explores the extraordinary history of chocolate pioneer Milton Hershey and his beloved wife Catherine, revealing how a man who failed in business multiple times before creating an iconic chocolate empire chose to channel his success into a legacy of education and community that continues to transform lives today.”
“Truth is, candy is not just my business,” Wittrock’s Milton Hershey says in the trailer. “Candy is my obsession.”
Daddario’s Kitty encourages him during his struggles to perfect an affordable chocolate recipe, telling him, “Milton, you keep chasing perfection, when maybe you should be chasing magic.”
Mark Waters, best known for directing Mean Girls and Freaky Friday, helmed the film from a screenplay by Bubba Fulcher, Will Hardy and Timothy Michael Hayes. Alan Ruck, Richard Kind, David Costabile and Heléne Yorke round out the supporting cast. The project was first unveiled by Angel Studios during this year’s CinemaCon in Las Vegas.
The trailer follows a young Milton Hershey as he pursues his dream of building a chocolate business. Although his products are well received, he struggles to turn them into a successful enterprise while facing one setback after another. As the trailer suggests, “Getting a business off the ground takes more than a good product.”
The trailer positions Hershey as more than a conventional business biopic. Alongside charting the rise of an iconic American brand, the film explores Milton Hershey’s resilience through repeated failures and the enduring legacy he and Kitty Hershey built through education, philanthropy and community development.
The biopic was reportedly filmed across 17 locations throughout Hershey’s home state of Pennsylvania and used thousands of pieces of chocolate during production to recreate the company’s early years.
The film is produced by Dandelion Media in collaboration with the Hershey entities and in association with Aloe Entertainment, Peachtree Group, and RCM3. It will be distributed theatrically by Angel Studios when it arrives in cinemas on November 26, 2026.
