Drishyam 3 — Release Date: April 2, 2026. Written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film stars Mohanlal alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, and Esther Anil. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas, the film is the third chapter in the acclaimed Drishyam crime thriller series.
Drishyam 3 continues the story of Georgekutty, a cable TV operator whose quiet life has long concealed a carefully constructed truth. Following the events of Drishyam 2, the narrative moves forward with heightened psychological tension, examining the long-term consequences of secrets that refuse to remain buried. While the earlier films focused on immediate danger and strategic survival, the third instalment shifts toward moral pressure, memory, and the persistent weight of the past.
Georgekutty’s family—Rani, Anju, and Anu—remain central to the story, once again caught between protection and exposure. As new investigative forces and familiar adversaries resurface, the film explores how time alters perception but not accountability. The story is structured as a slow-burning crime drama, driven by interrogation, silence, and calculated restraint rather than spectacle.
Jeethu Joseph returns to the franchise with a narrative approach rooted in realism, maintaining the grounded tone that defined the earlier films. The screenplay prioritises narrative logic, character psychology, and procedural detail, allowing tension to emerge through dialogue, pauses, and moral dilemmas. Supporting characters from previous instalments re-enter the narrative, reinforcing continuity and the cumulative nature of the conflict.
Principal photography began in September 2025 and concluded in December 2025, with filming taking place across Ernakulam, Thiruvalla, and surrounding regions in Kerala. The production design and visual language remain understated, reflecting the franchise’s commitment to authenticity and narrative immersion.
Positioned as a continuation rather than a conclusion, Drishyam 3 deepens the ethical questions raised by its predecessors. It revisits the idea that truth, once altered, never fully disappears—and that silence itself can become evidence.
