Thamma

Thamma (October 21, 2025) is an Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy horror film and the fifth installment in the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe. Written by Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew, and Arun Falara, and produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film combines romance, comedy, and supernatural elements, moving beyond the traditional horror-comedy style of its predecessors.

The story follows Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana) and Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna) as they navigate a world infused with supernatural and mythical elements, including vampires. Nawazuddin Siddiqui plays the primary antagonist Yakshasan, while Paresh Rawal portrays Ram Bajaj Goyal. Sathyaraj, Faisal Malik, and Geeta Aggarwal appear in supporting roles, with Varun Dhawan reprising his role from Bhediya in a cameo. The film also features special appearances by Malaika Arora and Nora Fatehi in song sequences.

Principal photography began in December 2024 across Delhi, Mumbai, and Ooty, concluding by mid-2025. Sets included recreated Delhi streets, homes, graveyards, and the forests of Ooty, while elaborate song sequences were filmed in July 2025. The soundtrack was composed by Sachin–Jigar. Thamma was teased in the post-credit scene of Stree 2 (2024) and was first announced under the title Vampires of Vijay Nagar before being renamed.

The film’s promotional campaign included the first look poster release on 18 August 2025, a teaser titled World of Thamma on 19 August 2025, and a trailer launch at Bandra Fort, Mumbai, on 26 September 2025. While some viewers criticized the humor as derivative, Varun Dhawan’s cameo was widely praised.

Scheduled for release worldwide on October 21, 2025, coinciding with Diwali, Thamma will be distributed in India by Pen Marudhar and internationally by Yash Raj Films.
