The RajaSaab is an Indian Telugu-language romantic horror comedy film written and directed by Maruthi, produced by People Media Factory and IVY Entertainment. The project stars Prabhas alongside a multi-star ensemble including Sanjay Dutt, Boman Irani, Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar.
The film follows a young man who sets his sights on his ancestral property to ease a financial crisis. Announced in January 2024, principal photography had begun earlier in October 2022. The production involved large-scale sets, including India’s largest indoor film set, a 41,256-square-foot haveli constructed at Aziznagar, Hyderabad. This elaborate set allowed the filmmakers to shoot a 40-minute climax sequence entirely within it, demanding meticulous coordination and extended working hours from the cast and crew.
The film marks the first collaboration between Prabhas and director Maruthi. Over the course of production, several actresses were considered before finalizing Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar as the female leads, with Nayanthara featured in a special song. Sanjay Dutt and Boman Irani joined to play important roles. Filming spanned multiple locations, including Hyderabad and Kanchipuram, with continuous shooting schedules lasting several months. Post-production required nearly 300 days of visual effects work.
The RajaSaab’s technical team includes Thaman S as music composer, Karthik Palani handling cinematography, and Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao in charge of editing. The film combines romance, horror, and comedy into a unique narrative set against the backdrop of the ancestral property and its mysterious happenings.
Scheduled for release on January 9, 2026, worldwide, the film will coincide with the Sankranti festival and will be available in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi. The Tamil dubbed version is set to release a day later, on January 10, 2026. Earlier planned release dates, including April 10, 2025, and December 5, 2025, were postponed to accommodate post-production work and ensure the elaborate visual effects were completed.
