Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana has crossed ₹20 crore in reported worldwide advance bookings ahead of its November 5 theatrical release, building early momentum for its big-screen debut. Starring Ranbir Kapoor as Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana, the mythological epic has recorded more than ₹11 crore in domestic advance sales, with overseas bookings taking the reported worldwide total to ₹20.50 crore. Paid preview screenings are scheduled for November 4, giving the film an additional opportunity to attract audiences before its regular theatrical release.
According to figures tracked by Sacnilk and reported by The Indian Express and NDTV, Ramayana had sold approximately 2.15 lakh tickets across 4,658 screens in India as of 9 am on October 26. The domestic advance gross stood at ₹11.81 crore, including block bookings. Excluding block bookings, the figure was ₹9.59 crore.
The Hindi version is driving most of the domestic demand, contributing ₹10.16 crore from 4,269 shows and accounting for approximately 86% of the reported advance gross. The Kannada version follows with ₹1.27 crore from 335 shows, representing around 11% of the total. The Telugu version has collected ₹37.85 lakh from 54 shows, accounting for approximately 3%.
These figures provide a snapshot of advance sales at the time of reporting rather than a final measure of demand. Collections could change as additional screenings become available and audiences continue to book tickets closer to release.
Premium formats are also contributing to the film’s advance sales. The Indian Express report states that IMAX screenings have generated ₹2.74 crore from approximately 1.6 lakh tickets across 3,980 shows, accounting for around 23% of reported advance earnings.
Other premium formats listed in the report include 4DX 3D, Dolby Cinema, EPIQ 3D and ICE 3D. Selected premium screenings in Mumbai have also attracted attention for their ticket prices, with some IMAX 3D recliner seats listed above ₹3,000.
Maharashtra is the leading state in the reported domestic advance-booking figures, followed by Delhi. West Bengal, despite the film being declared tax-free in the state, ranks sixth among the states, according to The Indian Express report.
Overseas sales have helped take Ramayana’s reported worldwide advance gross to approximately ₹20.50 crore. The overseas advance-booking total was reported at around $2 million, according to Sacnilk figures cited by NDTV and The Indian Express.
North America is the largest overseas contributor in The Indian Express report, with advance bookings of approximately $750,000. This includes around $550,000 for the November 4 paid preview screenings. The United Kingdom has recorded approximately $90,000, while Australia has contributed around $60,000.
The overseas figures combine advance bookings for preview screenings and the regular opening day. They represent ticket sales booked ahead of the screenings and should not be confused with box-office revenue already earned through theatrical exhibition.
The early booking figures have fuelled expectations of a strong opening for the film. The Indian Express reports a projection of more than ₹110 crore in domestic opening-day collections, including paid previews, and a potential worldwide opening above ₹200 crore. These figures are estimates rather than confirmed box-office results, and the eventual opening will depend on ticket sales as the release approaches.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana features an extensive ensemble cast. Sunny Deol plays Hanuman, Ravie Dubey appears as Lakshman and Arun Govil portrays Dasharatha. The cast also includes Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Shurpanakha, Vivek Oberoi as Vidyutjiva, Kunal Kapoor as Indra, Shobana as Kaikesi, Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Sheeba Chaddha as Manthara.
The first instalment is co-produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. The second part is scheduled to release in cinemas on Diwali 2027.
With more than a week remaining before its theatrical debut, Ramayana’s advance-booking performance will continue to be closely watched as additional screenings open and the release date approaches. The current figures indicate early demand across domestic and overseas markets, while the projected opening remains subject to change until actual box-office collections are reported.
