Sunny Deol’s Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak is scheduled to arrive in theatres on November 20, 2026, with a crime thriller centred on a retired police officer and the secrets that refuse to stay buried. Directed by Malayalam filmmaker M. Padmakumar, the film stars Ravi Kishan, Pragya Jaiswal, Jisshu Sengupta, Tinu Anand and Manish Wadhwa alongside Deol. The film’s first-look motion poster introduces a story that moves between the protagonist’s past and present, with an investigation at its centre.

Deol appears in the poster with grey hair, a heavy beard and a weathered face, smoking a cigarette. The look reflects the character of a retired officer whose experiences continue to follow him long after his years in the police force. The tagline, “Torn between Past and Present, He uncovers the truth,” offers a glimpse of the conflict while leaving the mystery surrounding the case unexplained.

In Suryaa, the retired officer becomes involved in an investigation that leads him towards buried truths and unanswered questions. His professional experience draws him into the case, but the investigation is also connected to his own past. Producer Kamal Mukut has revealed that the film follows its central character through three phases of his life and two different eras, giving the narrative a broader timeline than a conventional crime investigation.

The project also continues a collaboration that began with Gadar 2. Mukut said he had signed Deol for a two-film deal covering Gadar 2 and Suryaa. The team made Gadar 2 first, and the film’s major box-office success raised expectations for their next collaboration. Mukut has described Suryaa as a story about a common man, placing the focus on a character whose personal history is closely tied to the mystery he must unravel.

Suryaa: Ant Se Aarambh Tak is the official Hindi adaptation of the 2018 Malayalam crime thriller Joseph, written by Shahi Kabir and starring Joju George. The original film follows a retired police officer whose investigative skills draw him into a complicated criminal case. Its combination of police investigation and personal loss earned it critical acclaim, providing the Hindi adaptation with an established story to bring to a new audience.

Suryaa marks M. Padmakumar’s Bollywood directorial debut. Drawing on his experience in Malayalam cinema, the filmmaker directs Sunny Deol in the Hindi adaptation, with Ravi Kishan and Pragya Jaiswal in pivotal roles. Jisshu Sengupta, Tinu Anand and Manish Wadhwa also feature in the cast.

Kamal Mukut presents the film, which is produced by Deepak Mukut, Hemmant Mukut, Lokesh Mukut and Kamal Mukut under the MM Moviez banner.

Spanning three phases of the protagonist’s life across two eras, Suryaa explores the links between past events and present-day discoveries. The first-look motion poster introduces the retired officer and hints at the mystery surrounding him, keeping the details of the investigation under wraps ahead of the film’s theatrical release on November 20, 2026.
