Jason Statham returns as Adam Clay in the first teaser for The Beekeeper 2, the upcoming action sequel from Amazon MGM Studios. The film follows the former operative as he takes on the Beekeeper organization after it turns rogue and threatens to seize control of the U.S. government.
Directed by Timo Tjahjanto, the sequel sends Clay on a new mission against the organization he once served. Amazon MGM Studios released the first teaser on October 15, ahead of the film’s theatrical release on January 15, 2027.
The teaser introduces a new threat as the Beekeepers pursue their own agenda. The secretive human intelligence organization is prepared to eliminate anyone who stands in its way, forcing Clay to turn against the group and confront the danger it poses.
According to Deadline, Clay is also a wanted man in the sequel. He must clear his name while attempting to save the U.S. president. The teaser offers glimpses of Statham in action, including sequences in which he uses a machine gun and a flamethrower.
Jeremy Irons returns as Wallace Westwyld, who helps prepare Clay for his mission. In the teaser, Westwyld provides him with a 1969 Dodge Super Bee equipped with a machine gun. Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls” accompanies the action, adding to the footage’s high-intensity tone.
Alongside Statham, the sequel brings back several cast members from the 2024 film, including Irons, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Bobby Naderi and Jemma Redgrave. New additions to the franchise include Yara Shahidi, Pom Klementieff and Adam Copeland.
Tjahjanto takes over directing duties from David Ayer, who helmed the first The Beekeeper. The sequel’s screenplay is written by Kurt Wimmer and Zak Penn, based on a story and characters created by Wimmer. Statham, Chris Long and Wimmer serve as producers, while Ayer is among the executive producers.
Released in 2024, The Beekeeper followed Adam Clay, a former operative who embarks on a personal mission of revenge. The film introduced the secretive Beekeeper organization and established Clay as an operative willing to take extreme measures against those he believes have crossed the line.
The original film grossed more than $160 million worldwide, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The sequel builds on that story by placing Clay in direct conflict with the organization itself, giving him a new adversary and a mission with potentially wider consequences.
The Beekeeper 2 is scheduled to arrive in theatres on January 15, 2027. With Tjahjanto directing and Statham reprising his role as Adam Clay, the sequel continues the action franchise with a story centred on a rogue organization and a threat to the U.S. government.
The first teaser offers an initial look at Clay’s next fight, while further details about the film’s plot remain to be revealed.
