Netflix has released a new set of first-look images from The Further Misadventures of Cliff Booth, the David Fincher film that brings Brad Pitt back as stuntman Cliff Booth. Written by Quentin Tarantino, the film will open in IMAX on November 25, 2026, before beginning its Netflix streaming run on December 23.
The film will receive a two-week global IMAX release beginning November 25 before arriving on Netflix in December. Deadline has also reported the November 25 theatrical date and December 23 streaming premiere, with both publications citing the same release schedule. The theatrical window is brief, with Netflix set to bring the film to subscribers less than a month after its big-screen debut.
The newly released stills offer glimpses of several scenes. In one, Pitt wears goggles while driving a derby car on a dirt track. Another shows him talking to Elizabeth Debicki at a bar, while a third places him on a tennis court alongside Debicki, Scott Caan and Carla Gugino.

Set in 1977, eight years after the events of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the film follows Booth as he navigates a Hollywood that has changed considerably since his earlier days. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the story centres on Booth coming to terms with this new reality. Deadline describes a city that no longer needs a stuntman like Booth in the same way it once did, although Hollywood still has problems that require someone with his particular, sometimes extralegal, abilities.
According to Deadline, Booth now earns a living by bartending or working as a projectionist. However, he also operates as a fixer, solving problems for some of Hollywood’s most influential figures, including those whose interests are less than respectable. The publication describes the film as a crime story shaped by violence, ambition and desire.
The plot takes shape when Booth receives a call from talent agent Karen Crosby, played by Debicki. She is acting on behalf of her client, television star Charlie Peters, portrayed by Caan, who is known for performing his own stunts. Booth subsequently encounters other figures in Peters’s world, including his wife, Toni, played by Gugino, and Roderick “Hot Rod” Harrison, a professional football champion who has become a screen star, played by Abdul-Mateen II.
The story also features Eddie and Fernando Verdusco, portrayed by Groove and Tadena, respectively. Identified by Deadline as mysterious gangsters, the pair bring further trouble to the city. Weller’s character is named Gus Booth in Deadline’s photo captions.
The cast also includes Corey Fogelmanis and Karren Karagulian. Tarantino wrote the screenplay, while Pitt and Ceán Chaffin serve as producers. Fincher directs the film, marking a new collaboration between the filmmaker and the franchise’s central character.
Although Tarantino wrote the screenplay, he chose not to direct the follow-up. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he decided against directing the film because he does not want his next directorial project, which he intends to be his final film, to be a sequel. Speaking on the Church of Tarantino podcast last year, he explained his reservations: “I love this script, but I’m still walking down the same ground I’ve already walked. It just kind of unenthused me.”
The film follows Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, Tarantino’s 2019 Sony Pictures release, which starred Pitt alongside Leonardo DiCaprio as Western television star Rick Dalton. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film grossed $377 million worldwide and received 10 Academy Award nominations, winning two Oscars, including Pitt’s first acting win. The film also helped raise the profiles of supporting cast members such as Mikey Madison, Austin Butler, Sydney Sweeney and Margaret Qualley.
The release of the new images provides a closer look at Booth’s return to a changing Hollywood, with the film shifting the character from the world portrayed in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood into a crime story set in 1977. The next major milestone is its global IMAX release on November 25, followed by its Netflix premiere on December 23, 2026.
