Hanuman Ansh delivered yet another improbable chapter in one of the most unusual box-office runs in recent Bollywood history, topping the weekend with ₹51.5 crore in its sixth weekend, even surpassing its own record-breaking total from the previous frame. Meanwhile, Mirzapur: The Movie settled into a more conventional trajectory, adding ₹36.25 crore in its second weekend after a massive ₹93.75 crore opening the week before. A cluster of new regional releases, including Haiwaan and Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar, also entered theatres over the weekend, though none came close to challenging the top two.
Hanuman Ansh’s continued dominance six weeks into its release remains the standout story of the Indian box office. Having already delivered the highest fifth-weekend collection in Bollywood history just last week with ₹49.25 crore, the Neem Karoli Baba-based spiritual drama has now topped even that mark, adding ₹51.5 crore in its sixth weekend. With its total already having crossed ₹122 crore heading into this frame, the film’s India net collection now stands well past the ₹170 crore mark. For a film that opened to just ₹10 lakh on Day 1, this kind of sustained and still-growing business six weeks into its run remains virtually unheard of in Hindi cinema.
Mirzapur: The Movie, by contrast, followed a far more expected trajectory for a major franchise opener. After its massive ₹93.75 crore opening weekend, the film added ₹36.25 crore in its second weekend, a drop of a little over 61% from its debut frame. While that decline is steep, it is also fairly typical for a large-scale opener with a built-in streaming fanbase, where much of the core audience tends to show up in the first few days. The film’s ensemble cast, led by Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu, continues to draw audiences even as the initial surge settles.
Among the week’s new arrivals, Haiwaan, the Priyadarshan-directed Hindi crime thriller reuniting Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan for the first time in 18 years, opened to ₹7.35 crore over its first weekend. The film, a remake of Priyadarshan’s own Malayalam hit Oppam, also features Mohanlal in a cameo appearance and marks the final on-screen appearance of veteran actor Asrani.
Irumudi continued its strong extended run, adding ₹5.95 crore in what is now its fourth weekend, keeping the Ravi Teja-led Telugu drama firmly in the conversation as one of the year’s most durable regional hits. Malayalam mystery drama Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar, starring Parvathy Thiruvothu and Mathew Thomas, opened to ₹5.45 crore in its debut weekend, while Epic added ₹4.28 crore over the frame.
Among the other new and holdover titles, Aasha collected ₹1.97 crore, while the Kannada release Mahendragiri Vaaraahi opened to ₹1.86 crore. Punjabi sequel Singh vs Kaur 2 added ₹1.24 crore, while Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey continued its remarkably long theatrical journey with another ₹1.03 crore in what is now close to its ninth weekend in Indian cinemas. Hollywood’s Fall 2: Deadpoint opened to ₹1.01 crore, while Video and Jayanti 2 closed out the week’s notable performers with ₹0.68 crore each.
Taken together, the weekend reinforced just how unusual Hanuman Ansh’s run has become: a small spiritual drama is now outperforming a major streaming-to-theatrical franchise release nearly six weeks after its own debut. With Mirzapur: The Movie settling into a normal decline curve and a wave of new regional titles adding variety to the chart, the coming weeks will show whether Hanuman Ansh’s momentum can continue defying expectations.
