Barren Land

Barren Land (Tierra de nadie)  release date: March 28, 2025. Directed by Albert Pintó and written by Fernando Navarro, Barren Land is a Spanish thriller film starring Luis Zahera, Karra Elejalde, and Jesús Carroza. Set against the backdrop of the illegal drug trade in the province of Cádiz, the film follows the complex friendship between Guardia Civil agent Mateo “El Gallego”, resourceful bailiff Benito “El Yeye”, and Juan “El Antxale”, a fisherman-turned-drug dealer.

With a gripping narrative and intense performances, Barren Land explores themes of betrayal, loyalty, and survival in a world tainted by crime. Principal photography began in April 2024, with locations including Cádiz and Madrid. The film will premiere at the 28th Málaga Film Festival in March 2025 and is set to be released theatrically in Spain on March 28, 2025, by Sony Pictures.
