Alpha — Release Date: 3 July 2026. Directed by Shiv Rawail in his feature directorial debut and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, the film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, and Bobby Deol. Written by Soumil Shukla, Shridhar Raghavan, and Ishita Moitra from an original story by Uday Chopra, Alpha is the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe and the first film in the franchise to place female operatives at the center of the narrative.

Set within the interconnected world established by films such as Ek Tha Tiger, War, Pathaan, and Tiger 3, the story follows Sita, a highly skilled intelligence operative whose mission draws her into a dangerous conflict involving national security, covert operations, and powerful adversaries. As events unfold across multiple locations, Sita must navigate threats that challenge both her abilities and her personal history. The narrative combines espionage, action, and suspense while expanding the mythology of the YRF Spy Universe through new characters and alliances.

Alia Bhatt leads the film as Sita, marking her first appearance in the franchise. Sharvari co-stars in a significant role connected to the film’s central mission, while Bobby Deol portrays Fateh Singh Lakhawat, Sita’s father and a key figure in the story. Anil Kapoor appears as Colonel Vikrant Kaul, the chief of India’s Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW), reprising a character introduced in the spy universe. Supporting roles are played by Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Kiara Khanna, and Dia Mirza. The film also features a special appearance by Hrithik Roshan as Major Kabir Dhaliwal, linking Alpha directly to the wider franchise continuity.

Director Shiv Rawail, who previously gained recognition for the acclaimed series The Railway Men, brings his storytelling approach to the large-scale action genre. Produced as one of Yash Raj Films’ flagship projects, the film combines globe-spanning locations, elaborate action sequences, and franchise-building elements. Principal photography took place across Mumbai, Kashmir, and Valladolid, with portions of the production filmed in the scenic landscapes of Sonamarg and Pahalgam.

The soundtrack is composed by Rohansh and Abeer Pandit, while Sanchit Balhara and Ankit Balhara provide the background score. Positioned as a major chapter in the continuing expansion of the YRF Spy Universe, Alpha aims to introduce new protagonists while maintaining connections to the franchise’s established characters and storylines.

The film is scheduled for theatrical release on 3 July 2026 in Hindi, along with dubbed versions in Tamil and Telugu.
