The story traces the journey of Vithabai Narayangaonkar, whose remarkable talent and dedication transformed her into one of the defining figures of Maharashtra’s traditional performing arts. Beginning with her early years in the world of Tamasha, the narrative follows her rise to national recognition through powerful stage performances that helped preserve and popularize Lavani, one of India’s oldest folk dance and music traditions. Alongside her artistic achievements, the film explores the personal hardships, financial struggles, and social challenges she faced while balancing the demands of fame and family.

Shraddha Kapoor portrays Vithabai Narayangaonkar, bringing to screen the life of the acclaimed performer whose influence shaped generations of Lavani artists. Randeep Hooda appears in a pivotal role, while Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Siddharth Jadhav, Nana Patekar, and Anant Joshi play important characters connected to Vithabai’s personal and professional journey. Together, the ensemble reflects the people and cultural institutions that influenced her life and artistic legacy.

Director Laxman Utekar approaches the subject as both a personal biography and a tribute to Maharashtra’s rich folk heritage.
