Insidious: Out of the Further — Release Date: 21 August 2026. Written and directed by Jacob Chase, the American supernatural horror film stars Amelia Eve, Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Lin Shaye, and Sam Spruell. Produced by Blumhouse Productions, Screen Gems, and Stage 6 Films, the film serves as the sixth installment in the Insidious franchise and continues the mythology established in Insidious: The Red Door (2023), expanding the terrifying supernatural realm known as the Further.

The story follows Gemma, a young mother raising her daughter in the home where she spent her childhood. As unsettling paranormal events begin to occur around her family, Gemma discovers she possesses the rare ability to enter the Further—a mysterious limbo inhabited by trapped souls and malevolent spirits. While exploring the supernatural realm, she realizes that her unique gift also allows entities from the Further to cross into the world of the living. As increasingly dangerous forces become aware of her abilities, Gemma must confront terrifying supernatural threats before the barrier separating the two worlds collapses completely, placing her family and countless others in grave danger.

Amelia Eve stars as Gemma, leading a cast that includes Brandon Perea, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, Sam Spruell, Island Austin, and Laura Gordon. Franchise veteran Lin Shaye reprises her iconic role as paranormal investigator Elise Rainier, continuing one of the series’ most enduring characters. Together, the cast explores a new chapter in the Insidious mythology while maintaining the supernatural themes and emotional storytelling that have defined the franchise.

Director Jacob Chase, known for his work in supernatural horror, introduces a fresh central protagonist while building upon the established mythology of the Further. Rather than revisiting earlier storylines, the film expands the franchise through a new supernatural ability that alters the relationship between the living world and the spirit realm. Principal photography took place in Melbourne, Australia, with locations across Victoria standing in for New England. Longtime franchise composer Joseph Bishara returns to provide the musical score, continuing his work across all six Insidious films and reinforcing the atmospheric horror associated with the series.

Blending supernatural horror, psychological suspense, and family drama, Insidious: Out of the Further explores fear, loss, and the consequences of crossing into a realm beyond human understanding. Expanding the mythology of the Further while introducing new characters and supernatural threats, the film is scheduled for theatrical release in the United States on 21 August 2026.
