The story follows a devoted father whose life revolves around his young daughter and the responsibilities of protecting his family. Seeking strength and purpose, he undertakes the sacred Ayyappa Deeksha pilgrimage, carrying the traditional Irumudi—the ceremonial offering bag that symbolizes devotion, discipline, and spiritual commitment. The pilgrimage becomes more than a religious journey, evolving into a path of self-discovery that reshapes his outlook on life, relationships, and sacrifice. Against this spiritual backdrop, the film explores how faith and determination help him overcome personal struggles while strengthening the unbreakable bond between a father and his daughter.

Ravi Teja leads the cast in the central role, with Priya Bhavani Shankar portraying his wife and Baby Nakshathra playing his daughter, whose relationship with her father forms the emotional heart of the narrative. Sai Kumar, Ajay Ghosh, Ramesh Indira, Swasika, Meesala Lakshman, and Rajkumar Kasireddy appear in significant supporting roles, contributing to both the family drama and the protagonist’s spiritual journey.

Director Shiva Nirvana, known for emotionally driven storytelling, writes the story, screenplay, and dialogues, combining family relationships with themes of faith and redemption. The title Irumudi refers to the sacred twin-compartment offering bag carried by Lord Ayyappa devotees during the pilgrimage to Sabarimala, making the ritual a central symbol of the film’s narrative. Principal photography began in Hyderabad during early 2026, with the film simultaneously planned for release in Telugu and a Tamil dubbed version titled Irumudikattu.
