Release date: 10/07/2026 | Film: Dhamaal 4 | Director: Indra Kumar | Cast: Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Riteish Deshmukh

The Invite — Release Date: 26 June 2026. Directed by Olivia Wilde and written by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, the film stars Seth Rogen, Olivia Wilde, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton. Produced as an English-language adaptation of Cesc Gay’s acclaimed Spanish film The People Upstairs, the comedy explores modern relationships, intimacy, and personal insecurities through a single evening that gradually spirals into emotional and comedic chaos.
The story centers on two couples whose gathering evolves from an ordinary social occasion into a revealing examination of marriage, desire, honesty, and commitment. As conversations become increasingly personal, long-held assumptions and hidden tensions begin to surface, forcing the characters to confront uncomfortable truths about their relationships and themselves. Drawing from Gay’s stage play Els veïns de dalt (Los vecinos de arriba), the film retains the intimate character-driven structure of the original work while adapting it for an American audience.
Seth Rogen stars as Joe, alongside Olivia Wilde as Angela. Penélope Cruz portrays Pína, while Edward Norton appears as Hawk. The ensemble-driven narrative relies heavily on dialogue, chemistry, and performance, with the four central actors carrying the film’s emotional and comedic momentum. The confined social setting allows the film to focus on character interaction, shifting dynamics, and contrasting perspectives on love, sex, and partnership.
For Wilde, the project marks a return to directing following Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling. Working from a screenplay by longtime creative collaborators Will McCormack and Rashida Jones, she approaches the material through a balance of sharp humor and relationship drama. The production was filmed in Los Angeles and San Francisco, reportedly shot in chronological order over a compact twenty-three-day schedule, a process that helped support the natural progression of the characters’ emotional journeys throughout the story.
Premiering at the 2026 Sundance Film Festival, The Invite received strong critical attention for its ensemble performances, dialogue-driven storytelling, and contemporary exploration of adult relationships. The film was subsequently acquired for U.S. distribution by A24 following a competitive bidding process.
Blending comedy, romance, and interpersonal drama, The Invite is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in the United States on 26 June 2026 before expanding nationwide in July.
