Disclosure Day — Release Date: 12 June 2026. Directed by Steven Spielberg and written by David Koepp from a story by Spielberg, the film stars Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. Produced by Universal Pictures, the film is a science-fiction thriller centered on government secrecy, extraterrestrial disclosure, and the global consequences of hidden information coming to light.

The story follows Daniel Kellner, a young cybersecurity expert and whistleblower who becomes entangled in a massive conspiracy connected to long-suppressed information surrounding unidentified aerial phenomena and extraterrestrial contact. As government agencies, private corporations, and hidden networks attempt to contain the truth, Daniel races against time to expose information tied to what is described as the ultimate event of alien disclosure. Emily Blunt portrays Margaret Fairchild, a Kansas City meteorologist and former journalist drawn into the unfolding crisis, while Colin Firth plays Noah Scanlon, the head of the powerful Wardex corporation. Eve Hewson appears as Jane Blankenship, Daniel’s partner and a former nun, and Colman Domingo portrays Hugo Wakefield, a former Wardex insider advocating for public disclosure.

The project marks another collaboration between Spielberg and screenwriter David Koepp, whose previous work together includes Jurassic Park, War of the Worlds, and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Inspired in part by reported government investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena, the film combines conspiracy thriller elements with large-scale science-fiction storytelling. Koepp reportedly completed dozens of screenplay drafts during development, reflecting the scale and complexity of the project’s narrative structure.

Principal photography took place between February and May 2025 across New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta under the working title Non-View. The production includes large practical environments, urban locations, and sequences involving military and government operations. Costume design is handled by Paul Tazewell, while longtime Spielberg collaborator John Williams composes the score, marking the thirtieth partnership between the filmmaker and composer.

Blending investigative drama, suspense, and extraterrestrial science fiction, Disclosure Day continues Spielberg’s long association with UFO-centered storytelling while presenting the subject through a contemporary political and technological lens. The film is scheduled for IMAX theatrical release in the United States on 12 June 2026 through Universal Pictures.
